Research to protect animals and humans from the threat of infectious diseases

What is an infectious disease?

How do viruses cause disease in humans and animals? To elucidate this mechanism, we are studying the differences between disease-causing and non-disease-causing viruses and investigating the factors that determine viral pathogenicity. We are also researching host factors involved in disease development by examining differences in cellular and animal responses to viral infections.
